This image is inspired by the journalistic triumph known as Stars: They’re Just Like Us! (STJLU).
Goal: create THREE separate images of different celebrities doing different jobs.
This regular feature shows “celebrities” engaging in everyday activities like buying groceries, paying for parking or playing pickleball.
In this version of STJLU, you will create two separate images that feature a star, pro athlete or influencer engaging in a real job (instead of just ordering takeout). Perhaps one of the ten most dangerous jobs according to OSHA would be a good fit for your celebrity.
Tools you will use:
-selection tool
-layer masking
-resizing/warp tool
-Camera Raw filter

- Look at examples of STJLU pages.
- create a new, blank image in Photoshop that is 8.5×11 inches.
- create two images of Stars Doing Crazy and Dangerous Jobs.
- place your two stars images on the new image by using File, Place Embedded. Save your work again. Click here for the tutorial.
- place the “Stars – They’re Just Like Us!” circle logo on your new image. You can use the one on this page. Same tutorial as number 3.
- Add text captions and the “pop-out” text to each image. Click here to learn how to add basic text. Click here to learn how to format your text for this project.
- Save your image as a jpg and turn it in on Canvas. Use File, Save a Copy and choose jpg. Honestly, you will lose major points if it’s another format.
