Fall Final Exam Resources

Your Principles of Tech final exam takes place this Friday morning.

The exam will be primarily multiple choice and will be very similar to the mid-term quest from earlier this year.

The exam will only require a portion of the two hour exam period.  Our agenda will also include:
1. break down pinball machines – you are welcome to take your pinball machine home – we will keep the electronics and you keep the machine.  Note that we won’t be able to store them so be ready to take them home Friday.

2. Pinball partner evaluation.

3. Final shop clean for extra credit points.

4. Student awards.

12-18-18

today you have the class period to put final touches on your pinball machine.  There is no work time available after today’s classes.

By the end of class today you should do the following:
1. make sure that your name(s) and subject are written on the back of your pinball machine.

2. print out your commented code and tape it to the back of your pinball machine.

3. place your pinball machine on a table and plug it into a wall wart for power.

We will close the doors at the end of school today and grade your pinball machines before they have been played by anyone.

Doors open again at 5:30 pm for free play until 7:00pm

Grades will be posted online after 7:00pm.

Your final exam:

  1. is on Friday.
  2. will be written and multiple choice.

12-17-18 TUTORIAL EDITION

Join me in the Engineering room during Monday’s tutorial for one last work session.  I will be there after CREW ends.  There will be seven available computers so you will have to share.

Your pinball machine is due at the end of class on Tuesday, December 18th.  This is a 50 minute work period and you should plan on fine tuning your pinball machine so it is ready for grading. There will be no opportunity to work on your project after this class.

Due today: wiring installed in pinball machine and connected to Arduino pinball program.  Your Arduino should have your working Pinball program installed.

Additional work time:
Thursday after school until 6pm with Mr. Varvil in the Engineering room.

>last day to submit a CAD/CAM design to be eligible for a C grade on this assignment.  Designs will not be accepted after Thursday of this week and will lose credit on your overall grade.

Last 20 minutes of class:
1. Stop work
2. Clean up duties as assigned.
3. Print your code. It does NOT HAVE TO BE COMPLETE.  We want to see progress. Make sure you name and your partner’s name are on the first  line of the code as  a comment.
4. Setup your pinball machine on one of the tables.
5. Staple your code to the back of your pinball machine.
6. Take a rubric and grade your own pinball machine as if you were turning it in today.

You are welcome to work after school TODAY  until 6pm.

When will you laser cut the Exhibit Labels?  After all of the other CAD/CAM has been completed.

If you have submitted both exhibit label and CAD/CAM then you need to start working on programming and circuit building.

Andre- Asteroid file was empty.  Save and resend – email it to me if that works better.
