Today:
1. finish up and demo your Ultrasonic Robot

2. after I have checked off your robot, you may take apart your robot and return all the parts to the proper bin.  The cardboard will go into the recycle bin near the front door.

We will return to driving robots with a fresh design later in the year.

3. Begin exploring the use of a joystick controller and Arduino

Today:

Our focus is on getting ALL the robots running.
-avoiding obstacles
-displaying data on the LCD

2. complete Ultrasonic Robot Warning Sensor

My dream before the end of class is to get ALL of the robots roaming around and avoiding each other.  We can do it!

Individual assignments

1. finish up Arduino LCD – Custom Character Intro and turn in the share link on Canvas.
2. complete the LCD Multi Character assignment
3. start the Arduino Warning Sensor

We are continuing to work on programming LCD displays. Why?  Well, to install the displays on our robots!

today:

1. make sure that you have finished Arduino & LCD Display and turned it in on Canvas.
2. make a copy of Arduino & LCD Display and then start: Arduino LCD – Custom Character Intro
   You will use the circuit as your base.

Please tell your math teacher that today is Pi Day. It will bring them joy.

What do you get to do today?
1. Ultrasonic Robot – we will make a maze and put your robots to the test.
2. Once your Ultrasonic Robot is working then move on to the SOLO activity: Arduino & LCD Display.

1. graded assignment: you and your partner will demonstrate your robot as it travels using the path marked on the classroom floor.  You goal is to program your robot to drive straight to a defined spot on the floor and then turn to the destination spot.
2. while you are waiting for your turn to drive your robot, each of you will complete the Arduino Functions assignment.
3. after you have completed items one and two, it’s time to give your robot some sensors.  You will add the ultrasonic sensor to your robot. Click on Ultrasonic Robot for details.
