cyborg – an organism that merges biological, mechanical and robotic parts.
Your mission is to build a kit that can be built into a cyborg insect kit.
Click here for some inspiration – these helped my design.
What does it mean to be Cyborg Insect?
Your design will include a combination of insect parts (legs, wings, eyes, antenna, etc.) and mechanical/robot parts (gears, tank treads, radar domes, weapons, robotic claws, etc.)
Why a kit? When we built our 3d printed creature, we noticed that some legs and arms are too thin to print in place. BUT if you print the legs separately you can glue the attachments on after printing. Like a model kit.
Guidelines: Your completed design should include
-all parts should fit into a 120mm x 120mm
-a body – custom designed using the Extrude Sketch tool that we used in our 3d Printed Animal
-a head – custom designed using the Extrude Sketch tool that we used in our 3d Printed Animal
-at least six separate legs
-at least three separate attachments like wings, grabbers, weapons, sensors, etc.
Each separate part should fit into a hole that is already in the body. Make the hole 1mm larger than the part.

Lay out all the parts close but not touching and make sure that they are flat on the build plate (click the part and press the letter D for Drop):
