Smartphone Splash Photography

This assignment takes advantage of a smartphone’s ability to take a series of images – a burst of photos – very quickly.  This is inspired by the work of Harold Edgerton and his amazing photography that froze a moment in time by combining high speed film photography and strobe lights.

You will use a smartphone to make photographs using burst mode.  The examples in the video and below involve capturing splashing water.

Your mission to is turn in at least four splash photos through Google Classroom.  The images may be taken indoors, outdoors or both.  TAKE MORE PHOTOS THAN YOU WILL NEED and turn in your favorites.  Enjoy the experimentation.

You will need the following for this assignment:
-a clear glass or bowl filled with water
-ice cubes
-a flashlight for indoor photography
-a smartphone
