Part 1: Game review

  1. Click here to share your favorite Scratch game that you have made.
  2. Go to Canvas and complete the Scratch Game Review.  You will review two games that are not your own.  This is due at the end of class today.

Part 2: Scratch Original Game – completed game due next Thursday.

  1. Review the Scratch Original Game description and rubric. 
  2. Go to Canvas and complete your Original Game proposal.  This is due at the end of class today.
  3. Once you have completed your game proposal, start building your new game.

After a 1.2 billion mile journey, the spacecraft Osiris-Rex has returned to earth carrying material from an asteroid.  This is amazing science and could be the starter for your next screenplay (alien material brought back to earth..what happens next).

TODAY:

  1. Click here to share your favorite Scratch game that you have made.
  2. In honor of today’s scientific and space achievement, you get to start work on an Asteroids game in Scratch. 

As you work, let your creativity wander as you consider how you might apply all of these game features to a new game that you will build.

Hello!

Today you have two games to build.  The goal of these two games is to:
-learn left-right arrow control
-learn about changing a costume when triggered by an event
-learn about cloning in Scratch

The first one is fairly quick – Apple Catcher Game.  

The next one is Space Invaders and it will take some time.  Click here for the Space Invaders tutorial.

Next week, we will use what you learn in Space Invaders to modify Apple Catcher.
