Projects and ideas
The low price of digital photography opens the door for projects and ideas. Here are a few to get you started.

1) Day in the life project- borrowing an idea from the book series, create a day in the life of your family, company, dog, etc. Give your child some trust and a camera and see what their view is of life.

2) Home buying- capture images of each home to jog your memory after a day of open house viewing.

3) Visual directions- out of towners battling their way to your house from the airport? Have someone else drive the route while you photograph the key landmarks of the route. I admit it- I used this to review the route to the hospital for the birth of our child.

4) Insurance inventory- photograph the contents of your home and burn the images to a CD. Place the CD in the safety deposit box just in case.

5) Disassembly- take a picture of the (bike, door, car part) before you take it apart. Then you have a target when you rebuild.

6) Process- document a process. How to make a smoothie. How to wash your clothes.

7) Accident, UFO, etc.- keep the camera handy for those unexpected events. Snow on Mt. Tam or a hit and run.

8) Trip to the store- with a new baby at home, trips to Home Depot were challenging. For items that required a family decision I took photos and we reviewed our choices at home.

9) Visual labeling- show your kids exactly where their shoes, toys, etc. should go. Can't supervise both ends of a house move? Take pictures of key furniture pieces and affix them to the walls to indicate the desired location.

10) Names- I know some teachers who have taken individual photos of their new students and then labeled them with the correct names. Maybe a group photo would serve as a good memory aide.
