What will you design?  Be prepared to name your design, describe its design and purpose and talk about what problem this design solves.  Click here to share your thoughts on this Google form.

Part 2:

Design  and 3d printing guidelines:

-combine at least six shapes (this is a minimum requirement, any well thought out design will have more than six shapes). These shapes may be solids or holes.

-no larger by 120mm x 120mm x 60mm (it must fit in an imaginary box of these dimensions) and no smaller than 60x60x60mm.

-must be 3d printable (can use supports).

All components must be your own original designs.  You may NOT import an existing STL or 3d model for this project. You may import designs for textures or surface details like windows.

Tools to use:

-Tinkercad combine tool – various combinations of shapes and holes (including subtraction)
-Scribble tool
-Mirror tool – design ONE SIDE of your vehicle and make a mirror image for the other side.  Click here for a short tutorial of the Tinkercad Mirror Tool.

What do you turn in?  Complete step 1 and step 2.
1. Canvas: a screenshot from Tinkercad of your finished design.  How to take a screenshot in Windows.
2. For printing: upload the STL file of your design to this Google Form.

Here’s how to convert files to STL:
-in Tinkercad click the EXPORT button in the top right hand corner. Choose STL as the file format. Pay attention to where the file downloads on your computer. -make sure that the file has your last name (like milsteadcompleteshape.svg). No name=no 3d print.

When you are done click here to submit your design.
