Create a home page

Your mission is to create a one page site that will serve as your personal page on the school server. Since it is hosted on the school server ALL CONTENT must be school appropriate. This includes text, images, and links to external sites. If you are in doubt ask me. Everything that appears on this page will be posted on the web for all to see.

Think of this page as a resource that you wil use often. Put links to your favorite/most used websites.

1. Create a file in your webdesign folder and save it as index. Do not place this into a folder. This will become your homepage.

2. Create an images folder in your webdesign folder. You will save the images that appear on this page in this images folder.

3. You should design your page using tables and nested tables and include graphics and rollover buttons created in Fireworks. Do not simply go with text links.

4. Create a banner or logo using either Photoshop or Imageready that represents YOU. Save this in your images folder. You will incorporate this into your design.

Include all of these sections in your home page design:

Your top 4 favorite fun websites (school appropriate) with links that open in a new window. Here's how to do it.

Your top 4 favorite research websites (school appropriate) with links that open in a new window. Here's how to do it.

Your top 4 websites that you check everyday (school appropriate) with links that open in a new window. Here's how to do it. Examples might include favorite blogs, sites like engadget.com, sports scores, your email or news sites.

Web design assignment links to two of your assignments that you created for this class-your choice. Link to the index files for these websites. You will upload the files for these assignments as well.

Don't give away any personal information. Represent yourself well.

Give your page a title (leaving it as UNTITLED will cost you points) and list the date updated at the bottom of the page.
