PowerGrade Preferences-Scores settings
To access the Preferences menu open any class in PowerGrade and click on the Preferences button. It looks like a light switch. PowerGrade defaults to Exempt for an unrecorded score. Therefore, unrecorded scores do not affect a students grade in any way. If this fits your grading scheme then leave it alone. Otherwise, change to 0 points earned thereby calculating any blank score as a zero.

The three columns allow you to input codes that have different meaning when entered as an individual score (as alternative to a numerical score). For example, EX is entered in the count as exempt column. When EX is recorded as an individual assignment grade the student's grade is not affected. However, AB and RT count as zero. You can choose your own code values and types.

Common abbreviations:
EX - excused
AB - absent
RT - retake
LT - late
NHI - not handed in
RET - returned to student (incomplete?, insufficient)
