Exporting information from PowerGrade The features descibed below are designed to copy PowerGrade information into a text file that can be read by a variety of grading and database management programs. This can jump-start your setup of an alternative grading program or if you want to export student data to create labels or a mail merge. There are two export options available: Spreadsheet export and Custom export. 1. Open the desired class in PowerGrade. 2. Click on Reports and choose Custom Export from the menu 3. The Export window appears. The choices that you make here are largely controlled by the software that you will receive the information. Check the manual for your grading software and prepare for a bit of experimentation. To choose what information will be exported simply drag the field name from the Student Fields column on the left to the Export Fields column on the right. Leave the Column titles on 1st row box checked. Delimeters: these codes mark the individual fields (last name, first name, etc) and marks the end of one record and the beginning fo another. Your grading software will determine what type of delimiter to use. 3. When you have selected the desired fields and set the delimeter click on the Export button. 4. The Save As window
will appear. Use the drop down menu to select C$ as the location that
your file will be saved. C$ represents
your
computer's hard drive. Do not choose My Documents as this exists only
on the Citrix server and not on your hard drive. 5. Name your file and click Save. Your file will be saved to the hard drive. 6. Repeat this process for each class. Now use your chosen grading software's import function to pull student information to the desired location. |
